Both the St Edmundsbury and Forest Heath Sports Awards are now open for nominations. 2016 is the 10th anniversary of the St Edmundsbury Sports Awards but the first year of the FOrest Heath Sports Awards, hosted by Abbeycroft Leisure.
We are on the hunt for nominations to unearth and show off some of the sports stars of West Suffolk. We want to celebrate the sporting achievements of sportsmen and sportswomen in both the St Edmundsbury and Forest Heath regions. The achievements of these teams and individuals are inspirational – West Suffolk has generated Olympians, Paralympians and Commonwealth Games athletes as well as county and national teams and incredible sporting personalities.
Previous winners have included sporting participants, schools, volunteers, coaches, clubs, teams, volunteers and organisations that have shown outstanding commitment and progress in sport and physical activity.
We are looking for the local community to nominate their shining stars of this season for the following categories:
- The Sports Personality of the Year Award
- The Triumph over Adversity Award
- The Young Sports Personality of the Year Award
- The Club of the Year Award
- The Unsung Hero Award
- Community Volunteer of the Year
- The Coach of the Year Award
- The Lifetime Achievement Award
- Individual Performance of the Year
- People’s Champion
- Most Active Workplace
Up to 300 people are invited to the awards including; VIP’s, award nominees and their guests, local sporting champions, sports clubs and organisations, and local councillors.
To qualify for an award, you must live or train in either St Edmundsbury or Forest Heath.
