StreetVelodrome is coming to Bury St Edmunds on Friday 15th July and we cannot wait! Last week, we officially launched our professional cycling team, Suffolk Saints, who are taking part in the UK StreetVelodrome Series across the country.
StreetVelodrome is an exciting event unlike other cycling events – it’s fast, furious and accessible for ages 3 and up.
Our Suffolk Saints team are two professional cyclists who are currently competing against five other duos in the UK StreetVelodrome Series. John Stockwell, a former BMX National champion who has coached throughout Suffolk, and Tanya Griffiths, a British National champion both on the road and the indoor velodrome from Ipswich, have formed the Suffolk Saints – the county’s first professional cycling team.
The event kicked off on Sunday 8th May at the beautiful Eden Project. Our Suffolk Saints had a rocky start against far more experienced competition but they are excited to have another go this weekend at the second stage: Hillingdon.
Keep an eye on this blog for future updates of the team’s progress throughout the tour!
